So my niece is going through this phase where every time I give her something to eat, she stops before she takes the first bite...
then she precedes to ask me,"it's hot?"...
I will then test out the food and tell her whether or not it's too hot for her to eat.
Most of the time, it's fine, and after I test it I say, "it's fine, it's not hot", while using a reassuring tone of voice.
She will then cautiously take the first bite.
But in order for her to do this, she has to trust me.
She has to know that I love her and I would not tell her it's okay to do something if it wasn't...
I believe God is the same way with us!
He doesn't tell us to trust Him with something unless it's really okay to TRUST HIM.
He loves us, and he doesn't want to see us hurt.
Still, why do I continue to question his intentions when I trust Him with something?!
He loves me more than I love my niece!!
He loves to see me smile, just like I love to see her smile...
"But blessed are those who trust in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." ~ Jeremiah 17:7-8
