We Had A Party

This little girl turned one yesterday! If you don't know already ;) this is my niece, Bella! We had her party at our house, and had such a good time with family.

We went with a girly vintage theme, with pink, pearls, flowers and lace abounding everywhere. So naturally this is what her cake looked like...

The table was very pretty, with lots of yummy food. We had chocolate covered strawberries, cherry gelatin salad, grapes, nectarines, cheese, meat, crackers and spinach artichoke dip.

Everyone ate off of my vintage plate collection.

And we had flowers in a lovely pitcher.

Everyone drank out of ball jars with striped straws.

We also had a candy table for the party favors.

There were lots of pretty little shabby chic details...

...and a little girl with a ruffled hiney.

And she smashed her cake!

{b} bed size :  queen; I complain about it all the time because I'm one of those people who likes to sprawl out when I sleep, so it's a little tight with two people. Maybe someday we'll upgrade ;)

{x} x-rays you’ve had :   I broke my arm when I was two! Other than that, just at the dentist. ha.

{y} yummy food :   pizza (the good kind ex. not pizza hut, pappa john's, etc.), pasta (mainly fettucine alfredo- get my recipe here), mexican food, any kind of dip like queso, salsa, guacamole, spinach, artichoke, bruschetta, love 'em!!! I also love granola, salads, soups, baked potatoes, bisquits and ice cream!{z} zoo animal favorite : giraffes! I used to go with my Memaw to the zoo when I was little, and they let you feed to giraffes. I would stand there FOREVER feeding the giraffes, they were my favorite!

Missing Them

I've been missing these sweet little faces...

My brother and his family have been traveling a lot for his work, so I've been missing my nieces, especially since I used to see them atleast once a week!

They make me smile and I can't quit thinking about them.

What I Love...

Today, I'm loving my new shoes!

They're so comfy...and bright...and cheerful!

I'm also loving this stack of goodies I'm giving my niece for her birthday.

and oh how I'm loving this stuff...

it's lace tape! so fun!! You can use it for sooo many things...so pretty too!

This Weekend

This weekend was spent with the girls.

We kept my two nieces for a few days...

...most of it was spent this way...

hanging by the pool...

...and blowing bubbles!

Trusting Him

So my niece is going through this phase where every time I give her something to eat, she stops before she takes the first bite...

then she precedes to ask me,"it's hot?"...

I will then test out the food and tell her whether or not it's too hot for her to eat.

Most of the time, it's fine, and after I test it I say, "it's fine, it's not hot", while using a reassuring tone of voice.

She will then cautiously take the first bite.

But in order for her to do this, she has to trust me.

She has to know that I love her and I would not tell her it's okay to do something if it wasn't...

I believe God is the same way with us!

He doesn't tell us to trust Him with something unless it's really okay to TRUST HIM.

He loves us, and he doesn't want to see us hurt.

Still, why do I continue to question his intentions when I trust Him with something?!

He loves me more than I love my niece!!

He loves to see me smile, just like I love to see her smile...
