Inspiration Workshop

I'm linking up today with Gussy Sews for her inspiration workshop!

Our prompt this week is KITCHEN.

So here is my dream kitchen:

So eclectic but still put together and organized!

Things I love about this are:
1. The large farmhouse sink
2. The window letting sunshine in that has flowers on it
3. All of the gorgeous antique cabinets
4. The light and airy colors
5. The glass front cabinets
6. The sweet little island
7. The antique decor (dishes, vases, canisters, etc.) So sweet!
8. The beautiful chandelier

I could go on and on, but basically my dream kitchen is one that is cozy and vintage. I love the look of things being added over time. I agree with Gussy in that I would rather have a small comfortable and lived in kitchen than a large one that is so perfect that you don't want to touch anything.

I also thought of the perfect pantry with this prompt, and this, this is it...

Chalk board front door, neat and organized, beautiful jars, antique creams and whites, yes please!

Recipe & A Cooking Tip

Here it is!
Here's the recipe for the pavlova log that a few of you wanted from my last post.

Also, I wanted to give you all a cooking tip!

Have you ever been frustrated with trying to hold the pan with one hand and scoop out the grease with the other hand when attempting to drain ground beef? I have!!

The pan gets heavy, you tilt it too high and all the meat falls back down in the grease, you spill it, and the list goes on...

Well, with this little trick that my mom taught me, my life has been easier and all my ground beef draining problems have been solved!

Here's what the set-up looks like:

You simply put the pan on some pot holders and put a wooden spoon underneath one side of the pan.

You then push all of the meat to the high side that has the spoon under it, and all of the grease will drain down to the other side!

You're left with a hands-free set-up that allows you to neatly and comfortably drain your meat! Just scoop out the grease and you're done. Simple as that!

Hope this tip makes your life easier like mine! ;)

Weekend Breakfast

Our weekend was spent with Jerry's family who came and visited us!

We hung out, cooked together, went to the movies, watched Jerry play co-ed softball, and Saturday morning my sister-in-law made this wonderfully delicious pavlova log!

It was like dessert for breakfast!

It turned out so pretty, and we had a great family breakfast together eating it!

Happy Monday!!

Kitchen Hoop Art

I made myself a little something today...

this lovely hoop art for my kitchen!

I made this post about wanting to make some hoop art not too long ago, and today I did!

I made it using this oh-so-cute Hawthorne Threads fabric that has bright colored fruits all over it, that I scored in a giveaway over at Gussy Sews!

I also embroidered the word "Eat" (since it's going in my kitchen) and added some cute felt flowers.

I'm absolutely in love with it!

I love the colors and how fun it is! It will definitely brighten up my kitchen!!

I {Heart} My Hubby

To my husband,
I love you...

I love how you sweetly come say bye to me in the mornings when you leave for work, even though you KNOW I won't remember later since I'm half asleep.

I love how you always tell me I'm beautiful.

I love how on my birthday, you always get me exactly what I want.

I love how you keep me calm.

I love how you take care of me.

I love how you laugh at my jokes.

I love how you help me rearrange furniture every time I get bored with how it was before.

I love our trips to get frozen yogurt.

I love that we never get tired of being together.

I love living life with you.
